Left fielder Ron Northey hit a grand slam as the Boston-AL Red Sox man-handled
the New York-AL Yankees - the final score was 15 to 5.

Northey was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He doubled in the 2nd inning, doubled
in the 6th inning and depressed the partisan hometown fans with a grand slam
home run in the 9th inning. Boston-AL bats were hot in the 3rd inning with 8
runs on 5 hits and the 9th inning when they had 6 runs on 5 hits. For the
game Boston-AL out-hit New York-AL 17 to 8.

Sheldon Jones(4-4) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 7 innings. Fred
Sanford(2-4) was the losing pitcher. He got hammered, allowing 6 hits and 4
walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.
