Ed Beatin was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game at League Park where the Cleveland Spiders beat the Pittsburgh
Alleghenys by the score of 4 to 1.

Cleveland jumped on top to stay in the 3rd inning scoring one runner utilizing
3 base hits.  Cub Stricker lined a one-base hit.  Two outs later Ed McKean
came to the plate and ripped a single.  Harry Staley then was wild with a
pitch.  Larry Twitchell stepped in and he lashed a single, and an error was
also committed, scoring the run.  That was all the offense they were to need.
Cleveland had 9 hits for the afternoon.  

The win was credited to Beatin(4-5) who went the whole way allowing 1 run.
Staley(5-9) was hit with the loss.  He pitched 8 innings allowing 9 hits and
no walks.
