Silver King threw a complete game shutout and Jake Beckley collected 4 RBI
with one swing of the bat as the Pittsburg Pirates smashed the overmatched
Philadelphia Phillies, 10 to 0.

Beckley had a big day against Philadelphia. He laced a base-knock in the 1st
inning, caught a hold of a bad pitch for a Grand Slam homerun in the 2nd
inning and laced a base-hit scoring a run in the 7th inning.  Pittsburg had
17 hits for the afternoon.  

For King(4-4) it was his 2nd shutout this year. John Thornton(4-7) took the
loss.  His ERA increased from 3.31 to 3.69 as he allowed 10 runs in 9
innings.  

Wth the win Pittsburg now has a record of 15-21.  With the loss, the
Philadelphia ballclub's record is 12-27, worst in the league.
