Boston-AL erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs on 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Del Howard began the Boston-AL spurt when he singled. After another out, Ginger Beaumont came to the plate and drew a walk. Jim Delahanty then laced a base-knock which scored a run. Delahanty took second on the throw. Simon Nicholls stepped in and he drew a walk to load the bases. Ed Hahn stepped into the box and banged out a single giving Boston-AL the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. Overall Boston-AL out-hit Boston-NL 11 to 7. Chief Bender(12-5) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. George McQuillan(0-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. Dale Van Leven was all smiles after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim there for a while, but our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans - they kept cheering us on.
