12,051 fans watched an exciting game at South End Grounds.  The Boston-NL
Braves topped the Chicago-NL Cubs by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings.  Boston-NL was
victorious in the 11th inning.  Matty McIntyre doubled.  After an out was
recorded, Hap Myers stepped up to the plate and he doubled making Boston-NL
victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.  Boston-NL won despite
being out-hit by Chicago-NL 11 hits to 7.  

Jim Scott(7-4) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Russ Ford(8-6)
took the loss in relief.  He pitched 2 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 hits and no
walks.
