After an out was recorded, Ward Miller slapped a single. Ham Hyatt stepped up to the plate and he doubled. Otto Knabe then worked the squeeze play to perfection making Pittsburgh the victors to the delight of the home town faithful. Pittsburgh and Chicago-NL each finished the afternoon with 10 hits. The win went to Bill Doak(2-2) who allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. Frank Allen(2-2) was tagged with the loss in relief. He allowed 1 run and 2 hits in 1/3 of an inning.
