Al Shaw had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Brooklyn club defeated the Buffalo
Buffeds by a score of 3 to 1 at Washington Park.
Brooklyn came up with all the runs they needed in the 7th inning as they
scored 3 runs on 4 base hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Shaw
who made the crowd happy when he doubled which was good for two runs.
Neither team was able to score until the 6th inning.
Byron Houck(2-2) went 7 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Houck was helped
out by Bill Chappelle who recorded his 3rd save. Russ Ford(3-4) was the
losing pitcher. He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 8 hits and 3
walks.
