The Cleveland Indians toppled the Boston Red Sox by a 8 to 4 score at
Municipal Stadium.
Cleveland promptly took the lead in their half of the first when they scored 2
runs on 2 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Roy Campanella who
thrilled the crowd when he doubled bringing home two baserunners. Despite
losing, Boston out-hit Cleveland 9 to 6.
The win went to Howie Fox(3-2) who allowed 3 runs in 7 innings. The loss was
charged to Rex Barney(4-4). Cleveland knocked him around a bit, as he gave
up 6 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings.
