it at Forbes Field defeating the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 9 to 3.

In the 7th inning Cleveland scored 5 runs when they came up with 4 base hits.
The key offensive moment was provided by Wally Westlake who deflated the
spirits of the home town crowd when he tripled plating two runs.  Cleveland
had 10 hits for the afternoon.  

Murry Dickson(10-5) went 7 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. Billy
Pierce(2-11) took the loss.  He surrendered 6 runs and 6 hits in 6 innings.
