Callahan was obviously at the top of his game as he set the Washington batters down like so many dominoes. He had excellent control, walking only one. The tension was mounting with every inning after the 6th. Callahan appeared oblivious himself to the mounting history until two were out in the 9th. Only then, did he allow himself one deep sigh and a slow trip around the mound. Chicago had 10 hits for the afternoon. The losing pitcher was Gus Weyhing(5-7). What a show!' Tom Burns said. 'Callahan was great out there -- I'm happy that he got it.'
