Eddie Plank(12-5) pitched a rare no-hitter as the Chicago-NL Cubs toppled the Washington Senators 6 to 0. Plank was cheered on with every out from the 7th inning onward. The adrenaline had to be just pumping through his veins. The atmosphere was electric out there in West Side Park this afternoon! He walked 2 Washington batters. The tension built to a fever pitch. After the 8th inning everybody in the ballpark was anticipating what would happen in the 9th. Chicago-NL managed 11 hits in their victory. Long Tom Hughes(5-9) was the loser. He allowed 11 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings. After the game, Plank was heard to say, 'This is something I have dreamt about since I was a little boy - to have it come true is just amazing!'
