In a one-sided affair the Boston Red Sox batters pounded the struggling St.
Louis Browns pitchers for 8 runs while Charley Hall(4-2), with relief help
from Jack Killilay, blanked St. Louis.

St. Louis was unable to recover after Boston went ahead in the bottom of the
2nd inning when they scored 3 runs on 2 hits.  That was all the offense they
were to need.  Boston totaled 9 hits on the afternoon.  

Barney Pelty(2-5) was the loser.  He gave up 8 runs and 9 hits in 8 innings.
