First baseman Dots Miller slammed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Claude Hendrix
went the distance as the Pittsburgh Pirates man-handled the ice-cold Boston
Braves - the final score was 14 to 3.

Miller enjoyed a big day at the plate. He clubbed a two-run home run in the
2nd inning, delivered a base-hit in the 3rd inning, lifted one out of the
park for a two run home run in the 5th inning and smacked a single in the 8th
inning. Pittsburgh dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different
innings.

Hendrix(7-2) got the victory, allowing 3 runs for the game. Walt Dickson(3-4)
suffered the loss. He got hammered, allowing 15 hits and 3 walks in 8 and
2/3 innings.

'Some days it just all comes together, and this was one of them' Miller said.
'I've been seeing the ball pretty well lately.'
