13,790 fans were treated to a fine game at Forbes Field as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Pittsburgh Pirates won by the
slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.

The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings. Pittsburgh came out on top in
the 10th inning.  After two were out Bobby Thomson tripled.  Randy Jackson
was next and he delivered a single giving Pittsburgh the victory as 13,790
happy fans celebrated wildly.  Pittsburgh won despite being out-hit by
Cleveland 11 hits to 8.  

Ellis Kinder(2-3) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Hoyt
Wilhelm(8-2) was the loser in relief.  The winning ways continue for
Pittsburgh.  They now have a record of 9-1 in recent days.  With this loss,
Cleveland has a 5-5 record of late, 37-35 overall.
