Dave Rowe had 4 hits and 5 RBI and Billy Taylor went the distance as the St.
Louis Maroons defeated the Cincinnati Outlaw Reds by a score of 15 to 12 at
Union Grounds.
Rowe provided much of the offense. He laced a base-knock in the 4th inning,
tripled bringing in two baserunners in the 5th inning, tripled in the 7th
inning and smacked a three-run homer in the 8th inning. St. Louis lit up the
scoreboard in the 5th inning which saw them score 4 runs on 5 hits and the
8th inning with 5 runs on 5 hits. It was roller coaster of a game as the
lead change hands 5 times.
The victory went to Taylor(11-4) who went the distance allowing 12 runs.
George Bradley(10-5) took the loss. He surrendered 15 runs in 8 innings and
saw his ERA increase from 1.67 to 2.28.
