Mark Baldwin tossed a complete game at Polo Grounds where the Pittsburg
Pirates beat the New York Giants 9 to 2.

New York was unable to claim the lead after Pittsburg went ahead in the top of
the 5th inning as they scored 3 runs on 3 base hits.  The big moment was
provided by Baldwin who quieted the home crowd when he delivered a single
scoring two baserunners.  Pittsburg finished with 13 hits in the victory.

Baldwin(3-5) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. Mickey Welch(3-4)
absorbed the loss.  By giving up 9 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings his ERA
increased from 3.49 to 4.17.
