Left fielder Tommy McCarthy ripped a bases loaded blast and Jack Stivetts
delivered 9 solid innings as the Boston Beaneaters crushed the St. Louis
Browns 30 to 3.

McCarthy provided much of the offense. He hit a 'grand salami' to the delight
of his teammates in the 4th inning, delivered a base-hit in the 7th inning
and laced a single bringing in a run in the 8th inning. Boston lit up the
scoreboard in the 4th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 6 hits and the
6th inning with 11 runs on 8 hits. The Boston offense was great, scoring in
7 of the 9 innings.

Stivetts(3-5) allowed 3 runs on the game. Dad Clarkson(2-7) absorbed the loss.
He allowed 20 hits and 5 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. The Boston ballclub's
record now stands at 19-19. With the loss, St. Louis has a record of 4-6
lately, 14-24 overall.
