Kid Gleason had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Bill Hoffer threw a complete game
shutout as the sizzling Baltimore Orioles bested the Cincinnati Reds 9 to 0
at Union Park.
Hoffer(7-2) looked very much in control throughout the day. He allowed only 6
hits and 4 walks in 9 innings dropping his ERA from 3.33 to 2.95. Baltimore
had 13 hits for the afternoon.
Tom Parrott(3-8) was hit with the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 13
hits and 2 walks in 8 innings. With the win, Baltimore continued their
winning ways; their streak now stands at 7 games and counting. 'We're running
on all cylinders now', said Ned Hanlon. 'I probably shouldn't change a thing
and let the guys continue to put up the wins.'
