Jack Townsend whitewashed St. Louis at Sportsman'S Park where the Washington
Senators beat the St. Louis Browns in 13 innings 1 to 0.

Neither team managed to score in the first nine innings.  Finally, Washington
prevailed in the 13th inning.  Kip Selbach drew a walk.  After an out was
recorded, Jake Stahl came to bat and tripled scoring the run.  Washington had
9 hits for the afternoon.  

Townsend(1-5) went the distance for the shutout. Fred Glade(2-6) was the
loser.  'It's been a rough ride lately, but this was a good win for us' said
Washington's manager, 'Maybe this will put us back on track.'
