Eddie Cicotte tossed a complete game shutout as the Washington Nationals
really laid it on the Boston-AL Red Sox 17 to 0.

Cicotte(5-3) contributed a very nicely pitched game.  He was stingy on the
mound, allowing just 8 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings dropping his ERA from
1.66 to 1.46.  Washington bats were very productive in the 2nd inning
tallying 4 runs, the 7th inning with 4 runs on 4 hits and the 9th inning
which saw them score 4 runs on 4 hits.  Washington totaled 16 hits on the
afternoon.  

Buster Brown(1-3) suffered the loss.  He allowed 5 hits and 4 walks in 2 and
1/3 innings.
