In a dramatic ending, the Philadelphia-AL Athletics staged a comeback win over
the Boston-NL Braves by the count of 5 to 4.

Philadelphia-AL won the game with a rally in the 9th inning plating 2 runs
utilizing 3 base hits.  After an out was recorded, Fred Merkle opened up the
rally as he doubled.  Frank Schulte came next and he reached on an error.
Home Run Baker then stroked a one-base hit bringing in a run.  Danny Murphy
came up and he lined a base-hit giving Philadelphia-AL the win and sending
the home town fans into a frenzy.  Philadelphia-AL banged out 8 hits on the
afternoon.  

Frank Lange(3-3) got the win allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Rube Waddell(0-1)
was the loser in relief.  He surrendered 1 hit and no walks without retiring
a batter.
