7,437 fans were treated to a fine game at Forbes Field as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The smoking-hot New York Giants won
by the slimmest of margins, 8 to 7.

The score was knotted at 7 after nine innings.  New York came out the victor
in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Al Bridwell drew a walk.  Art
Devlin came next and he slapped a base-hit.  After another out, Chief Meyers
then laced a one-base hit scoring the run.  New York won despite being
out-hit by Pittsburgh 12 hits to 8.  

Doc Crandall(8-2) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Jack Ferry(1-4) absorbed the loss in relief.  He surrendered 2 hits and 1
walk in 1 inning.
