Les Moss had 4 hits and scored 3 times at Yankee Stadium as the Boston-AL Red
Sox came back dramatically to top the New York-AL Yankees by the score of 12
to 9.

Boston-AL scored the winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 5 runners on 3
hits.  The highlight belonged to Johnny Groth who silenced Yankee Stadium as
he singled bringing home two baserunners.  For the game Boston-AL out-hit New
York-AL 16 to 13.  

Fred Hutchinson(2-7) was the winner allowing 9 runs in 8 innings. Mickey
Harris recorded the save, his 2nd.  Al Brazle(0-2) suffered the loss in
relief.  Boston-AL scored big getting 5 runs off him in 2 and 1/3 innings.

Allan Kaufman was very happy after the game, 'It's great to come back and win
it in your last at bats! Our guys just wouldn't give up.  And did you see the
fans - one minute they're laughing and screaming down all sorts of
unprintable stuff at our guys - the next minute - SILENCE! Yes sir, a very
enjoyable win this afternoon!'
