Ted Kluszewski lofted one into the 'cheap seats' as the Cincinnati Reds beat
the Washington Nationals by a score of 9 to 6.

Cincinnati scored 4 runs in the decisive bottom of the 5th inning when they
had 4 base hits.  They would hold up as the winning runs.  Cincinnati ended
up with 14 hits for the game while Washington had 10.  

The victory was credited to Saul Rogovin(3-1) who went 6 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 4 runs. Don Bessent recorded the save, his 21st.  Don Newcombe(5-5)
was the losing pitcher.  He allowed 13 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
