Charlie Eden had 5 hits and 4 RBI at Polo Diamond Grounds as the Pittsburgh
Alleghenys beat the New York Metropolitans by the count of 16 to 13.

Eden enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He slapped a one-base hit in the 1st
inning, doubled which scored a run in the 3rd inning, doubled which was good
for two runs in the 4th inning, doubled plating a run in the 8th inning and
tripled in the 9th inning.  Pittsburgh bats were hot in the 4th inning
plating 6 runs and the 8th inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 5 hits.
Pittsburgh dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.

The win went to Frank Mountain(2-1) who allowed 3 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings.
Ed Bagley(4-9) took the loss.  He allowed Pittsburgh 11 runs in 7 innings of
work.
