Billy Hamilton hit 3 doubles and had 2 RBI and Kid Carsey pitched a complete
game as the Philadelphia Phillies bested the floundering Louisville Colonels
14 to 5 at Baseball Grounds.

Louisville was unable to climb back into it after Philadelphia went ahead for
good in the bottom of the 5th inning when they scored 3 runs on 3 hits.  The
critical plate appearance was by Hamilton who brought the crowd to their feet
when he doubled bringing home two baserunners.  Philadelphia rapped out 17
hits for the afternoon.  

Carsey(7-0), allowing 5 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Billy
Rhines(0-5) was charged with the loss.  He was unable to control the
Philadelphia offense and allowed 17 hits and 4 walks in 8 innings.
