WEB GEMS- Bot 6th: Jimmy Collins robbed Emmet Heidrick of a base hit.

Red Donahue allowed Jimmy McAleer to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
at Sportsman'S Park as the St. Louis Browns won in their last at-bat beating
the Boston Americans by the count of 4 to 3.

The deciding run was scored by St. Louis in the 9th. Emmet Heidrick slapped a
base-hit. Bill Friel was next and he drew a walk. Bobby Wallace then
reached on an error giving St. Louis the victory as 4,581 happy fans
celebrated wildly. Boston out-hit St. Louis 9 to 5, but St. Louis ended up
with more runs.

The winning pitcher was Donahue(3-5) who allowed 3 runs for the game. George
Winter(6-5) ended up with the loss. 'I struggled a bit out there today,'
Donahue said, 'but I toughed it out and we got the win.'
