Al Orth allowed Tom Loftus to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the
Washington Senators outscored the Chicago White Sox 2 to 1.

Orth(7-3) was solid in the win. He allowed only 6 hits and 2 walks in 9
innings. Chicago tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

Roy Patterson(5-3) took the loss. He pitched 9 innings and surrendered just 5
hits and 1 walk. 'We didn't get the key hits when we needed them' Clark
Griffith said. 'We did what we could, we just didn't pull out the win. What
can you say?'
