Frank Chance had 2 base hits as the Detroit Tigers beat the Chicago-NL Cubs by
a score of 9 to 7.

Detroit won the game with a rally in the 8th inning when they came up with 5
runs on 4 hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Chick Stahl who made
the crowd happy when he laced a one-base hit bringing in two baserunners.
Chicago-NL tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.  

Clarence Currie(3-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 1/3 of an inning and
allowing 3 runs. Red Ames preserved the game for Currie, recording his his
1st save.  Ed Poole(1-2) took the loss in relief.  

Wth the win Detroit now has a record of 25-46.  With the loss Chicago-NL now
has a record of 33-30.
