Second baseman Miller Huggins had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the New York-NL
Giants defeated the Cincinnati Reds in 11 innings 3 to 2 at Polo
Grounds.

The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings.  New York-NL won the hard
fought contest in the 11th inning.  Honus Wagner opened up the inning nicely
when he drew a walk.  Cy Seymour stepped up to the plate and he laced a
base-hit.  Huggins then stroked a single plating a run.  After an out was
recorded, Harry Lumley came to bat and was walked intentionally to load the
bases.  Harry Arndt came to the plate and delivered a one-base hit resulting
in an exciting win for New York-NL and a raucous post-game celebration by the
home town fans.  New York-NL totaled 7 hits on the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Bill Duggleby(2-1) who allowed 1 run in 3 innings.
Jack Townsend(9-5) was the loser.  Wth the win New York-NL now has a record
of 38-31.  Cincinnati has a record of 42-34 after the loss.
