Germany Schaefer had 5 hits and 2 RBI and Ed Killian pitched a complete game
at American League Park where the Detroit Tigers beat the Washington
Nationals 13 to 7.

Detroit tallied 8 runs in the top of the 7th inning when they came up with 7
base hits.  The big moment was provided by Sam Crawford who silenced the
crowd when he lined a base-hit bringing home two baserunners.  Detroit banged
out 19 hits on the afternoon.  

The victory went to Killian(8-3) who went the distance allowing 7 runs. Casey
Patten(2-9) took the loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up
18 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
