The Philadelphia Phillies easily topped the Pittsburgh Pirates; the final
score was 11 to 5.

Paul Sentell enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He lashed a single which scored
a run in the 4th inning, slapped a base-hit in the 7th inning and belted a
three-run homer in the 8th inning.  Philadelphia had 13 hits for the
afternoon.  

Togie Pittinger(3-6) went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. Vic
Willis(6-5) was hit with the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 13 hits
and 6 walks in 8 innings.
