Roy Mitchell allowed Bobby Wallace to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game and shortstop Wallace had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the St. Louis Browns
beat the Boston Red Sox by a score of 6 to 5.

St. Louis won the game with a rally in the 8th inning scoring 2 runs on 2 base
hits.  Wallace led off and keyed the rally when he laced a single.  After an
out was recorded, Mitchell came to bat and doubled.  Burt Shotton then
reached on an error which scored a run.  Shotton was safe at second on a
stolen base.  Jimmy Austin came to the plate and reached on an error scoring
the final run of the inning.  St. Louis had 9 hits for the afternoon.  

The victory went to Mitchell(1-1) who went the distance allowing 5 runs. Ray
Collins(4-5) was the loser.  He surrendered 6 runs and 9 hits in 9 innings.
