3,665 fans watched an exciting game at Comiskey Park. The New York Yankees
ended a long winless drought and topped the Chicago White Sox by the slimmest
of margins, 3 to 2.

New York came up with all the runs they needed in the 8th inning scoring 3
runs utilizing 4 base hits. Joe Harris kicked off the action when he lashed
a single. Nunamaker was safe at second on a stolen base. Luke Boone then
hit a deep fly knocking in a run. Fritz Maisel followed and he drew a walk.
New York continued their aggressive style with another stolen base. New York
got their 2nd stolen base of the inning. Frank Truesdale stepped into the
batter's box and he doubled plating another run. Roger Peckinpaugh then
laced a base-hit. Roy Hartzell stepped in and he hit a single scoring the
final run of the inning. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until
the 7th inning.

The winning pitcher was Ray Keating(3-6) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Cy
Pieh recorded his 1st save. Eddie Cicotte(6-6) was the losing pitcher.

'Ahhh, that victory was surely needed. Man alive, things were getting awfully
grim,' noted Frank Chance. 'Now, we need to string a bunch of wins together
and turn things around!'
