Bill Burdick completed the game without help from the bullpen and catcher Con
Daily had 2 base hits at West Side Park as the Indianapolis Hoosiers beat the
Chicago White Stockings 8 to 6.

Indianapolis had the winning rally in the 9th inning plating 2 runs on 3 hits.
Marty Sullivan kicked off the action when he ripped a one-base hit.  Daily
came to the plate and tripled driving in a run.  One out later, Charley
Bassett then hit a deep fly scoring the final run of the inning.  A wild
affair, this game saw the lead change 6 times.  

The victory was credited to Burdick(2-0) who went the distance, allowing 6
runs. Bill Hutchison(1-8) was the losing pitcher.  He got hit pretty hard,
allowing 13 hits and 5 walks in 9 innings.
