Bill Hoffer smacked 3 triples and had 6 RBI and Jim Hughes allowed Ned Hanlon
to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Union Park as the sizzling
Baltimore Orioles, running on all cylinders, ripped the Louisville Colonels
by a large 23 to 5 margin.

Hoffer enjoyed a great day at the plate. Every time he came up in the latter
innings, the crowd was on their feet cheering. He tripled bringing home two
baserunners in the 1st inning, tripled which was good for two runs in the 7th
inning and tripled scoring two baserunners in the 7th inning. Baltimore lit
up the scoreboard in the 1st inning which saw them score 4 runs on 5 hits and
the 7th inning with 15 runs on 12 hits. Baltimore had 28 hits for the
afternoon.

The win was credited to Hughes(8-4) who went the whole way allowing 5 runs.
Chick Fraser(3-9) was given the loss. He was knocked around by Baltimore,
allowing 24 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.

Baltimore added another win to their now very impressive winning streak.
