by the New York-NL Giants, 12 to 2.

The victory was credited to Al Mattern(3-7) who went 6 innings, allowing 2
runs. Mattern was helped out by Irv Young who recorded his 1st save.  George
Mullin(3-8) was hit with the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 14 hits
and 7 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.
