Bobby Byrne had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Chicago-NL Cubs defeated the St.
Louis-AL Browns 8 to 3 at West Side Park.

Chicago-NL jumped out to the early lead in the first inning plating an
isolated run on 3 hits.  St. Louis-AL was out-hit by Chicago-NL, 18 hits to
8.  

Russ Ford(7-5) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Byron Houck
recorded his 5th save.  Claude Hendrix(8-10) was the losing pitcher.  He was
hit hard and gave up 17 hits and 4 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.  

With this win, Chicago-NL has a division leading 32-28 record.  They have been
7-3 lately.  The loss by St. Louis-AL interrupted a nice 9-1 recent run.
