Red Ames had a complete game at Baker Bowl where the Cincinnati Reds beat the
Philadelphia Phillies 9 to 2.

Ames(4-6) was very good in the win.  He surrendered only 6 hits and 2 walks in
9 innings lowering his ERA from 3.55 to 3.23.  Cincinnati banged out 11 hits
on the afternoon.  

The losing pitcher was Joe Oeschger(2-3).  He was knocked around pretty good,
giving up 7 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.
