Wally Westlake hit a grand slam at Fenway Park as the Boston Red Sox beat the
New York Yankees by the count of 8 to 2.

Boston took the lead for good in the bottom of the 2nd inning when they
tallied 2 runs on 1 hit.  The key offensive moment was provided by Joe Gordon
who made the Boston fans a happy lot when he lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run.  Boston had a total of 11 hits for the game.  

The win went to Lou Brissie(4-4) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Brissie was
helped out by Tommy Byrne who recorded his 2nd save.  The loss was charged to
Ken Heintzelman(3-7).
