Bill Phillips allowed Joe Kelley to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 5 to
2 at Baker Bowl.

Cincinnati tallied 3 runs in the 4th inning when they came up with 5 base
hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Harry Steinfeldt who silenced
the stadium when he tripled plating two runs.  Cincinnati managed 17 hits in
their victory.  

The victory was credited to Phillips(5-2) who went the distance, allowing 2
runs. Chick Fraser(2-2) was charged with the loss.
