At Baker Bowl the Philadelphia-NL Phillies outdistanced the Cincinnati Reds by
a final score of 11 to 7.

Philadelphia-NL jumped on top to stay in the bottom of the 3rd inning scoring
2 runs on 3 base hits.  Claude Ritchey started the inning off right when he
slapped a base-hit.  After an out was recorded, Lou Criger stepped in and he
drew a walk.  Jack Slattery then stroked a single to load the bases.  Jack
Dunn was up next and he ripped a one-base hit driving in a run.  One out
later, Davy Jones came to bat and was hit by a pitch scoring the final run of
the inning.  Philadelphia-NL had 17 hits for the game and Cincinnati had 13.

Fred Mitchell(2-8) went 6 innings allowing 5 runs for the victory. Mitchell
was helped out by Jack McFetridge who recorded his 3rd save.  Noodles
Hahn(5-9) was the loser.  He was not very effective, surrendering 7 runs in 4
innings.  

The Philadelphia-NL ballclub's record now stands at 23-38.  With the loss
Cincinnati now has a record of 35-33.
