Tommy Leach hit one over the fence and Lefty Leifield allowed Fred Clarke to
rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the smoking-hot Pittsburgh
Pirates topped the Brooklyn Superbas by a score of 6 to 3 at Forbes
Field.

Pittsburgh set the tone of the game in the first inning when they scored 3
runs on 6 hits.  Brooklyn could do no damage in the 9th.  

The victory was credited to Leifield(6-3) who went the distance, allowing 3
runs. George Bell(4-6) was hit with the loss.  

Pittsburgh continued their winning ways, with their streak now at 9 games and
counting.
