Matty McIntyre had 3 base hits as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Boston-NL
Braves by a score of 7 to 6 at South End Grounds.

Boston-NL found themselves trailing quickly as the Detroit bats came through
in the first inning plating one baserunner.  Bob Bescher hit a single.  Jim
Murphy then called for a steal which was successful.  Beals Becker then would
ground out scoring the run.  Both teams ended up with 10 hits on the
afternoon.  

The win was credited to George Bell(4-4) who went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 6
runs. Jack Pfiester recorded the save, his 1st.  George McQuillan(7-4) was
charged with the loss.  He got hammered, allowing 9 hits and 2 walks in 6
innings.
