Right fielder Clyde Milan had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the St. Louis-AL Browns beat
the Chicago-NL Cubs by a score of 8 to 6.

St. Louis-AL brought 3 runs across the plate in the 6th inning when they came
up with 3 base hits. It was enough to earn the victory. Chicago-NL had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

The win was credited to Rube Marquard(9-6) who went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing
5 runs. Hank Robinson earned his 21st save. Rube Benton(6-8) was the losing
pitcher. He got hammered, allowing 12 hits and 5 walks in 8 innings.

'We didn't get the key hits when we needed them' Lee Palmer said. 'We did what
we could, we just didn't pull out the win. What can you say?'
