In a dramatic ending the Buffalo Buffeds staged a comeback and held on to win
over the Kansas City Packers by the count of 5 to 3.

Buffalo came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 9th inning
scoring 3 runs utilizing 3 base hits. Del Young started the inning off right
when he ripped a base-hit. After an out was recorded, Jack Snyder came to
bat and drew a walk. Larry Schlafly followed, but he was set down on
strikes. Nick Allen came up and he slapped a single driving in a run. Allen
took second on the throw. Frank Delahanty came up to bat and tripled with
two more runners crossing home. Buffalo banged out 7 hits on the afternoon.

The win was credited to Gene Krapp(7-1) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Joe Houser got the save, his 2nd. Gene Packard(2-8) was tagged with the
loss.

George Stovall was understandably not very talkative after his team's tough
loss. He quickly showered and changed and when asked about the game had a
terse, yet polite response, 'Hey fellows, that game was a heart-breaker to
lose. Our guys gave it their all and played well - fate just wasn't smilin'
on us this afternoon'
