Right fielder Mickey Mantle jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI as
the New York-AL Yankees won a dandy at Yankee Stadium over the
Philadelphia-NL Phillies, 9 to 8.

New York-AL won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.  After an
out was recorded, Minnie Minoso drew a walk.  Richie Ashburn followed and he
slapped a single.  Mantle then banged out a single making New York-AL
victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.  Despite scoring in 6
separate innings, Philadelphia-NL could not get the win.  

The winning pitcher was Bob Kuzava(5-1) who allowed 1 run in 1 and 2/3
innings. Howie Fox(5-1) was tagged with the loss in relief.
