Amos Rusie was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game as the New York Giants outscored the Chicago Colts 11 to 8.
Chicago was unable to claim the lead after New York went ahead in the bottom
of the 3rd inning when they scored 4 runs on 3 hits. The crucial at-bat was
provided by Lew Whistler who made the crowd happy when he tripled scoring two
baserunners. Chicago proved to be no trouble in the 9th.
Rusie(10-6) lasted until the end allowing 8 runs for the win. Bill
Hutchison(8-11) ended up with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 11 hits
and 6 walks in 8 innings.
Wth the win New York now has a record of 21-21. With the loss Chicago now has
a record of 23-19.
