Kid Nichols went the distance and Billy Nash blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI
as the reeling Chicago Colts were badly beaten by the Boston Beaneaters, 17
to 5.

It was a good day for Boston thanks to Nash. He lined a base-hit in the 3rd
inning, ripped a solo home run in the 4th inning and slapped a single which
was good for two runs in the 8th inning. Boston bats were hot in the 1st
inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 5 hits and the 8th inning which saw
them score 4 runs on 3 hits. Offensively, Boston was a juggernaut. They
scored in 6 separate innings.

Nichols(8-7) lasted until the end allowing 5 runs for the win. Willie
McGill(4-12) took the loss. He struggled with his control issuing 14 walks
in 8 innings.

Boston extended their winning streak to 6 games. Frank Selee was clearly happy
after the game -- 'Everything is clicking for us right now.'
