In a lop-sided win the Philadelphia-NL Phillies ripped the Chicago-NL Cubs by
a 9 to 3 count.

Philadelphia-NL tallied 5 runs in the 6th inning.  The key at-bat was by Moose
McCormick who silenced the stadium when he smacked a single which was good
for two runs.  Philadelphia-NL had 10 hits overall, while Chicago-NL had 6.

Barney Pelty(3-2) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Mordecai Brown
earned his 4th save.  Jimmy Dygert(2-7) was the loser.  He was not very
effective, surrendering 8 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.  

This win by Philadelphia-NL continues their recent hot streak.  In their last
ten games, they have a record of 8-2.  For the season, they are 24-29.  With
the loss Chicago-NL now has a record of 14-42, worst in the division.
